MEET RHONDA

What can I say? People say they want to know more about “Rhonda” of “RB Design Studio”. So here goes…

I grew up in Danville, Kentucky and was in the band in high school (played clarinet). That was my life! The activities, the marching, the practice… I moved to Lexington, KY in 1973 to attend Fugazzi Business College and have lived in the area ever since then. In late 1974, I met George Bartlett and we married in 1975. George met his heavenly Father January 4, 2014, after several, very long illnesses.

I have been actively involved in my church my entire life. Everything I am, I owe to the Lord. He has given me talents that have developed beyond my wildest dreams. We were actively involved in a Baptist church for 20 years where I taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, played my clarinet, helped each year in Vacation Bible School and many other things involved with the church and the children’s ministry. In 1995, God led us to another church… a Spirit-filled, Charismatic church! Quite a change for this little “Baptist girl”, but I now know that it was because He was ready to take us to another level of His Glory. I have played sax in the Praise & Worship Team (alto, tenor, baritone… and now, Soprano sax!), and have used my God-given talents on the computer during the worship services. God has called us to be a blessing to each other and I always enjoy being as much of a blessing as I possibly can to everyone I come into contact with!

I first became involved with website design through the development of my church’s website. The church site was started by someone else. When he left the church and was no longer involved in the website’s upkeep, I said, “I think can do it!”. I knew nothing about website design at that time, and actually, very little about the internet as far as that goes!

I have 38 years of clerical/secretarial experience to my favor and that has been a very valuable asset. After many, many hours of doing something, then redoing it over and over again, and studying, and trying different things, I began to see that I had a love for this thing called web site design/development and the fact that I could make something out of nothing. When I begin a new project, I feel very much like an artist must feel when she is sitting there looking at a blank, white canvas. I can take nothing and transform it into something of beauty, or functionality, or practicality, whatever my client desires. Just like everything else I’ve ever done in my life, I give each and every one of my websites the individual attention and nothing but my very best efforts!

Along with website design, I have also done marketing and assisting for Lexington and Richmond area real estate agents, providing virtual home tours for their websites (which, of course, I design and maintain), as well as digital photography for their listings and brochure design and printing.

I am an experienced user of all Microsoft Office products, as well as many other software programs.

I have more than 30 years’ overall computer experience. Since 1998 when I first started designing websites, there have been many, many hours of trying to figure out how to get this script to work correctly, or that applet to function properly, or how to do this, or how to do that, but in the end, this thing called “website design” has become my passion. I love to be able to create something that my clients are proud to call their website and have them say, “Rhonda Bartlett created my web site!”

So there you have it in a nutshell. I look forward to serving my current clients with utmost professionalism and meeting my new clients and providing them with the website they want that will serve them in whatever ways they are looking for.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!
